About Jason Fieler

Past

I started my musical journey in 4th grade when I learned Fur Elise on a toy piano on a road trip. I began taking piano lessons almost immediately and have been doing that since. I started taking bassoon lessons in 6th grade and began playing guitar around that time too. I was in wind ensembles, jazz bands, and choruses throughout middle school and high school. I started writing music in about 5th grade and attended the Frost Young Musician's camp for composition in 2014 and 2015, and then again in 2019 for jazz piano. I attended the Boston Conservatory High School Composition Intensive in 2021 and 2022 to further develop my compositional skills at a higher level. I began releasing original music on streaming platforms in 8th grade, and have since released 7 albums and 5 EPs, and I plan to come out with some new stuff soon...

Present

I am currently a sophomore at the Frost School of Music at the University of Miami studying Media Scoring & Production with a minor in Composition and a principal in contemporary keyboard. I'm a member of the award-winning contemporary a cappella group BisCaydence, which made it to the semi-final round in ICCA's this past year (here's the video). I'm a brother of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia men's music fraternity (Fall '22), of which I am the secretary, live sound manager, and Tenor 2 section leader. I'm in a classic rock band called Double Take in which I play bass and a fusion/ska group called Trillion Ducks in which I play keys.
